Does your dog guard his toys or other resources? Does he get aggressive if you try to take his toys or other resources from him? This guide addresses Toy Guarding, and may be useful to overcome the guarding of various other resources as well. In this guide I show you step by step how I helped Buddy overcome his toy guarding so he can feel comfortable when I am near his toys and when I touch his toys.
Please note: If your dog attacks and/or bites when guarding his toys or other resources, or if you are afraid he will bite, I highly recommend you seek the advice of a Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist. This guide is not a substitute for seeking the guidance of a qualified and certified professional. You can find some helpful resources on finding a qualified professional in our "Dog Behavior Help" section.
